AQUAMARINE
Reference stone from the laboratory archive. This page is for species recognition; it is not a numbered GRA report.
Aquamarine's name comes from the Latin for seawater, and it was long thought to calm waves and protect sailors. In the trade it is the blue-to-green variety of beryl — the same mineral family as emerald.
Color ranges from pale sky blue to deeper green-blue. Clarity, tone and the presence of treatments are the points a laboratory records on a GRA report. This Featured page is a species reference only; it is not a numbered certificate.
To check a printed GRA report for an aquamarine or any other stone, open Certificate and enter the certificate number exactly as printed.
